POSITION SUMMARY—Protect the company’s critical information, systems, and assets as well as build solutions, implement and configure new software and hardware, provide training, and assist in the development of an overall IT security strategy. WORK ENVIRONMENT— Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures. Work hours may require adjustments based on system needs and will require on-call/remote responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups
• Develop remediation processes and procedures to mitigate vulnerabilities discovered during audits and scans.
• Mentor and train other engineers in the company on acceptable security processes and seek to continually improve processes companywide
• Evaluate the existing security systems and provide technical direction to IT support staff
• Plan and implement system automation as required for better efficiency in security processes.
• Ensure the highest level of systems and infrastructure availability
• Maintain infrastructure security requirements including laptop and desktop computers (end point protection), servers, routers, switches, printers, datacenters, firewalls, VPNs, backup systems, phone systems, scanners, security equipment, and other physical hardware and software
• Maintain awareness of known vulnerabilities and research critical patches and zero-day responses for deployment.
• Perform Patch management tasks: maintaining knowledge of available patches, deciding what patches are appropriate for systems, ensuring that patches are installed properly, testing systems after installation, and documenting all associated procedures
• Plan, design, and rollout of security architecture with a focus on industry best practice
• Have a general understanding of security standards as applicable to our environment.
• Develop proposals and recommendations for security equipment, software, and services within company budgetary boundaries

Additional work responsibilities

• Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure for the organization to be in line with company guidelines or SOP (standard operating procedure)
• Deploy, test, configure, secure, various physical, virtual, and cloud-based servers
• Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers.
• Support the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findings

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS 

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field preferred

Experience: Four or more years of related experience preferred

Certificates & Licenses: (Preferred) Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network , CompTIA Security , CompTIA CySA , CompTIA CASP or Microsoft certifications in Windows Server and Windows Client

Other Requirements: Must be able to remote in from home or come on site when problems arise; Must be available to work nights and weekend when the need arises
